"We have had a problem with noise from the flat above us in Lady Isle House Ferry Court Cardiff. We contacted a Mr Paul Staniforth who immediately became involved and addressed the situation. We really do appreciate what he has done for us and cannot thank him enough. Once again a big thank you to Mr Staniforth. The noise above was intolerable."

Local Culture and History of Colliers Wood
Colliers Wood is situated in south-west London, in the borough of Merton. It is 7.7 miles from central London. In 1632, during the reign of King Charles I, (r. 1625-1649), Colliers Wood was first named, and referred to charcoal-burners. This is not to be confused with miners.
From 1755 onwards, a tollgate stood on the Merton Road. This is the High Street, Colliers Wood, today. This was on the site of the present station. At the time, an alternative village name of Singlegate was given. Around 1780, Colliers Wood House was rebuilt. This had been home to Elizabethan and later notables.
By the early 19th century, mills originally used for grinding corn, were switching to printing textiles. These mills were situated beside the River Wandle. Colliers Wood was unusual, as an out-of-the-way place, because in 1851, only a twentieth of the population worked in agricrulture. This was a remarkably low proportion.
In the 1870s, the 40-acre grounds of Colliers Wood House, began to be replaced with speculative building, first towards Tooting, then towards Merton. In 1904, the tollgate was removed.
In 1907, a tram service began, and streets of terraced houses were built on land belonging to Emmanuel College, Cambridge.
In 1926, during the reign of King George V, (r. 1910-1936), Colliers Wood station was opened as part of the Morden extention of the City & South London Railway, south from Clapham Common. This is the Underground station was know today, on the Northern Line.
In the early 21st century, there was an increase in housebuilding in Colliers Wood, partly because Tooting's growing popularity increased the desirability of neighbouring, more affordable localities.
