Block Management North Sheen

North Sheen's No 1 Managing agent

Block and Estate Management is about the minutia done well: the role of a Managing Agent is technical, administrative, practical and political. It takes joined up thinking to do what we do well as well as sufficient resource to react to whatever is necessary day-to-day.

As a Managing Agent we know our true business is building relationships with people. Our people are empowered and know that they can make a difference to how people feel about where they live. We call our 'Property Manager's 'Relationship Managers’ to embody our values which are to build relationships, add value, and to take the initiative. We lead the market in transparency and focusing on risk, cash, repairs and place making, usually in that order, and was the first Managing Agent to introduce a ' money back guarantee ’.

Being who we are would be impossible without our passionately committed people, whose qualifications we sponsor and who we support professionally to be the best they can be, as achieving a national training award and our Silver IIP status confirms.

Block Management Overview

Block and Estate Management is about the minutia done well: the role of a Managing Agent is technical, administrative, practical and political. It takes joined up thinking from a multi-disciplined team with one eye on the strategic long term plan and with sufficient resource to react to whatever is necessary day-to-day: the skills that block and estate management spans are: politics, building pathology, finance, legal knowhow and of course customer service too.

As a leading Managing Agent, we are a one-stop-property shop. Block Management Reviews

"The lettings negotiator was absolutely amazing. Getting the perfect place can be very difficult and she was patient with us, and provided the necessary guidance. Although we couldn’t secure our preferred property which was not in her control, she was helpful in getting what we now call a home. Thank you."

We really do appreciate what he has done for us and cannot thank him enough. Once again a big thank you to Mr Staniforth. The noise above was intolerable."

History of North Sheen

North Sheen, a district of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, has a history also typical of the overall transformation from rural settlement to suburban growth representative of the overall area. "Sheen" as a placename probably came from Old English "sceon," indicating "shining" or "bright," presumably for the area's location by the River Thames, which would have glimmered in light. During the medieval time, North Sheen was part of the larger parish of Sheen and consisted primarily of rural terrain in which the largest means of livelihood was agriculture. North Sheen did not really develop or grow in population until the early 19th century. The arrival of the railway in mid-19th century with the building of the North Sheen railway station in 1846 was the turning point in its development. It provided direct links to central London, spurring suburban growth as people migrated to reside in quieter, residential districts that remained within commuting distance of the city.

North Sheen continued to be a suburb and became increasingly suburban in the 20th century, with most of the development occurring after World War II. As London expanded outward, the area saw an influx of new housing developments, and commercial and retail establishments started to develop. Despite its proximity to inner London, North Sheen retained a more residential, village-like character than some of the other nearby boroughs, such as Richmond and Kew. As the years passed, the area developed a reputation for its mixture of housing styles, from traditional Victorian housing to more modern estates, and its closeness to open spaces like Richmond Park. North Sheen is today predominantly a residential area that has managed to keep its quiet atmosphere, making it a desirable place to live but one that is still well-connected to the rest of London by its transport links.
