History of South Bucks

South Bucks is a local government district in Buckinghamshire and it was formed on 1 April 1974 by the Local Government Act 1972 through the combination of the areas of Beaconsfield Urban Distrct with part of Eton Rural District. The district was originally named Beaconsfield but it was renamed to its present title on 1 April 1980.
