History of Crossharbour Station
Crossharbour DLR Station is located on the Isle of Dogs in East London and is part of the Docklands Light Railway network. It opened on August 31, 1987, on the site of the former Millwall Docks railway station, which had closed in 1926. The name “Crossharbour” refers to the nearby Glengall Bridge, a historic crossing over the Millwall Inner Dock.
In 1994, the station was renamed "Crossharbour and London Arena" due to its proximity to the London Arena, a popular venue for concerts and sports events. After the arena closed and was demolished in 2006, the station reverted to its original name, Crossharbour.
Today, Crossharbour serves the Bank-Lewisham DLR line with frequent services, providing easy access to Canary Wharf and other parts of London. The station is fully accessible and connects well with local bus routes, making it a convenient transport hub in the Docklands area.
