Block and Estate Management is about the minutia done well: the role of a Managing Agent is technical, administrative, practical and political. It takes joined up thinking to do what we do well as well as sufficient resource to react to whatever is necessary day-to-day.
As a Managing Agent we know our true business is building relationships with people. Our people are empowered and know that they can make a difference to how people feel about where they live. We call our 'Property Manager's 'Relationship Managers’ to embody our values which are to build relationships, add value, and to take the initiative. We lead the market in transparency and focusing on risk, cash, repairs and place making, usually in that order, and was the first Managing Agent to introduce a ' money back guarantee ’.
Being who we are would be impossible without our passionately committed people, whose qualifications we sponsor and who we support professionally to be the best they can be, as achieving a national training award and our Silver IIP status confirms.

We empower teams out on site
Site staff are the eyes and ears of the developments we manage, they are fully connected to our customer relationship management systems. The work they do is visible to residents, e.g., day books and end of shift inspections on the Ringley Gateway portal.
We see success as the emotional connection of each resident to where they live, so the task is simple... to empower site teams to make a difference on resident at a time.
We hire and place a range of site staff including: Concierge, Caretakers, Housekeeping, Cleaners, Gardeners, Maintenance Engineers and more…

"We have had a problem with noise from the flat above us in Lady Isle House Ferry Court Cardiff. We contacted a Mr Paul Staniforth who immediately became involved and addressed the situation. We really do appreciate what he has done for us and cannot thank him enough. Once again a big thank you to Mr Staniforth. The noise above was intolerable."

History of Potters Bar
Most prestigious roads in Potters Bar
Potters Bar’s origins date back to medieval times, with its name likely deriving from “Potter’s Hill” or “Potter’s Field,” reflecting early pottery or farming activity in the area. The settlement was initially a small rural village within the county of Middlesex, surrounded by farmland and woodland. Its growth was modest until the arrival of the railway in the mid-19th century specifically the Great Northern Railway line in 1850 which transformed Potters Bar into a commuter town, making it much easier for people to travel to London for work while living in a quieter, rural setting.
During the 20th century, Potters Bar expanded rapidly with suburban housing developments, especially after World War II, accommodating families looking for more space outside the capital. It was part of Middlesex until 1965, when it became incorporated into Hertfordshire due to administrative boundary changes. The town retains many green spaces and historic buildings, balancing its role as a commuter hub with a strong local community identity. The presence of sites like the Potters Bar War Memorial and the Grade II listed Green Man pub reflect its rich local heritage.

Potters Bar has a strong community‑oriented cultural life: the Wyllyotts Centre is its main hub for theatre, cinema, events and also houses the Potters Bar Museum, which showcases local history and artefacts (for example, displays related to the World War I Zeppelin airship L31). The town also supports performing arts education via groups like RARE Productions, who put on musicals and other shows at Wyllyotts, and Jigsaw Performing Arts School which teaches drama, singing and dance, especially to younger people on weekends.
There’s also plenty of grassroots and volunteer‑led culture. The Potters Bar Society works to preserve the town’s charac
ter, green spaces, footpaths and public amenities, planting bulbs, maintaining town aesthetics, and organising local walks. Then there are regular community events: the Potters Bar Farmers Market & Craft Fair (monthly) which supports local makers and food producers; family‑oriented park festivals (“Fun in the Park” etc.); the annual Carnival and procession; and local groups like Scouts, guide units, church‑led events also doing crafts, music and seasonal celebrations.
