Block Management Earlsfield

Earlsfield 's No 1 Managing agent

Block and Estate Management is about the minutia done well: the role of a Managing Agent is technical, administrative, practical and political. It takes joined up thinking to do what we do well as well as sufficient resource to react to whatever is necessary day-to-day.

As a Managing Agent we know our true business is building relationships with people. Our people are empowered and know that they can make a difference to how people feel about where they live. We call our 'Property Manager's 'Relationship Managers’ to embody our values which are to build relationships, add value, and to take the initiative. We lead the market in transparency and focusing on risk, cash, repairs and place making, usually in that order, and was the first Managing Agent to introduce a ' money back guarantee ’.

Being who we are would be impossible without our passionately committed people, whose qualifications we sponsor and who we support professionally to be the best they can be, as achieving a national training award and our Silver IIP status confirms.

History of Earlsfield

Earls Court, which is located in West London, has a long history that dates back to the Norman Conquest. The de Vere family was granted the land under the Manor of Kensington, and by approximately 1095, they possessed the land in direct crown tenure. The name "Earls Court" likely originated from that of the de Vere Earls of Oxford, whose manor court convened at the location where the Old Manor Yard now stands, near the eastern entrance of the Earl's Court Underground Station. Previously rural, the district began to transform to urban development in the mid-19th century when the Metropolitan District Railway was constructed in the 1860s and Earl's Court station opened in 1871. This infrastructure paved the way for the construction of residential districts, and significant streets such as Eardley Crescent and Nevern Square appeared between 1867 and 1880.

During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Earls Court was famous for its exhibition grounds. In 1887, businessman John Robinson Whitley founded the Earls Court Exhibition Grounds, which showcased such attractions as Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show and the Great Wheel, a giant Ferris wheel, opened in 1895. The region continued to play host to numerous exhibitions and events, cementing its position as a cultural center. The fabled Earls Court Exhibition Centre opened in 1937 and hosted a variety of events including the British International Motor Show and the Royal Tournament. Ever since it closed in 2014 and was demolished, the site has remained largely inactive. But a £10 billion redevelopment is planned, to convert the district into a vibrant residential and cultural quarter with new homes, cultural venues, and parks, building to begin in 2026 and carry on into the. early 2040s.
