Block Management Barking Riverside

Barking Riverside's No 1 Managing agent

Block and Estate Management is about the minutia done well: the role of a Managing Agent is technical, administrative, practical and political. It takes joined up thinking to do what we do well as well as sufficient resource to react to whatever is necessary day-to-day.

As a Managing Agent we know our true business is building relationships with people. Our people are empowered and know that they can make a difference to how people feel about where they live. We call our 'Property Manager's 'Relationship Managers’ to embody our values which are to build relationships, add value, and to take the initiative. We lead the market in transparency and focusing on risk, cash, repairs and place making, usually in that order, and was the first Managing Agent to introduce a ' money back guarantee ’.

Being who we are would be impossible without our passionately committed people, whose qualifications we sponsor and who we support professionally to be the best they can be, as achieving a national training award and our Silver IIP status confirms.

Block Management Reviews

"Both the lettings agents have been great throughout the process of moving into my new apartment. An extremely friendly and professional team. Thankyou to you both for the seamless and efficient service - you’ve made the experience of moving into my first home a wonderful one "

"We recently had some plumbing work done which required the water being shut off for a short period on the whole of our floor in our apartment block. Our caretaker was extremely helpful, as always, coordinating the shut down with us and our plumber. It all went without a hitch and minimal disruption."

Julie Boyd 79 days ago

"We have had a problem with noise from the flat above us in Lady Isle House Ferry Court Cardiff. We contacted a Mr Paul Staniforth who immediately became involved and addressed the situation. We really do appreciate what he has done for us and cannot thank him enough. Once again a big thank you to Mr Staniforth. The noise above was intolerable."

History of Barking Riverside

History of Barking Riverside

Barking Riverside is a relatively new and rapidly developing area situated along the southern banks of the River Thames in Barking, East London. However, the history of the site itself stretches back to the industrial era, when it played a significant role in the area's transformation. Originally, the land that now makes up Barking Riverside was part of a large industrial zone, primarily used for manufacturing, shipbuilding, and port-related activities. The area's proximity to the River Thames made it an ideal location for industries like oil refining and dock operations, which helped shape the development of the region in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The area was also home to several key industrial sites, including the London Oil Refining Company, which dominated the riverside from the 19th century. This industrial landscape was complemented by a mix of warehouses, factory buildings, and workers' housing, as Barking grew into a bustling port town during the Industrial Revolution.

After World War II, the decline of the manufacturing and dock industries, along with the rise of containerization, led to the deindustrialization of the area. As the docks closed and heavy industry faded, Barking Riverside, like much of the surrounding area, became less active, with large swaths of land lying derelict and underused.

The transformation of Barking Riverside began in the early 21st century, as London’s population continued to grow and the need for new housing increased. The area was identified as a key site for regeneration, with plans put forward for mixed-use developments that would include new homes, commercial spaces, schools, and parks, all while retaining the area's proximity to the River Thames and transport links to Central London.

Today, Barking Riverside is undergoing one of the largest regeneration projects in London, with thousands of new homes being built alongside community amenities, green spaces, and infrastructure. The development is set to transform the area into a vibrant residential and commercial hub, offering a blend of modern living and easy access to the heart of London. This transformation is part of a broader effort to revitalize the Barking and Dagenham borough, which has become a key area for regeneration and urban growth in East London.
