Block Management Acton

Acton's No 1 Managing agent

Block and Estate Management is about the minutia done well: the role of a Managing Agent is technical, administrative, practical and political. It takes joined up thinking to do what we do well as well as sufficient resource to react to whatever is necessary day-to-day.

As a Managing Agent we know our true business is building relationships with people. Our people are empowered and know that they can make a difference to how people feel about where they live. We call our 'Property Manager's 'Relationship Managers’ to embody our values which are to build relationships, add value, and to take the initiative. We lead the market in transparency and focusing on risk, cash, repairs and place making, usually in that order, and was the first Managing Agent to introduce a ' money back guarantee ’.

Being who we are would be impossible without our passionately committed people, whose qualifications we sponsor and who we support professionally to be the best they can be, as achieving a national training award and our Silver IIP status confirms.

"We have had a problem with noise from the flat above us in Lady Isle House Ferry Court Cardiff. We contacted a Mr Paul Staniforth who immediately became involved and addressed the situation. We really do appreciate what he has done for us and cannot thank him enough. Once again a big thank you to Mr Staniforth. The noise above was intolerable."

History of Acton

Acton, located in West London, has a rich history that dates back to medieval times. Initially a rural area consisting of farmland and small villages, Acton’s name originates from Old English, where "Ac" means oak and "ton" refers to a settlement, indicating its location near oak trees. The district saw significant change in the 19th century, particularly after the arrival of the Great Western Railway. This transportation development spurred rapid urbanization, with an influx of housing and industries. By the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Acton had transformed into a bustling urban area, solidifying its place within London’s growing infrastructure.

In the 20th century, Acton became known for its working-class population and industrial background, including the iconic Acton Town Gas Works. The area continued to evolve, with a growing diversity of cultures and communities settling in the district. Acton’s transformation led to a blend of residential, commercial, and industrial spaces, fostering a dynamic atmosphere. Today, it remains a vibrant, eclectic area, known for its thriving arts scene and rich cultural heritage. Despite its industrial roots, Acton is now a popular place to live, work, and explore in London.

Cultural Scenes in Acton Town

Acton, in West London, has grown quietly into one of the city's most culturally diverse and eclectic areas. It is a working-class and proud area with a multicultural community, independent spirit, and emerging creative vibe. A walk around the district will find a mixture of Polish delis, Ethiopian cafes, Caribbean takeaways, and Persian patisseries reflecting the international mix of residents who call Acton their home. This diversity injects energy into an area where culture isn't just consumed—enjoyed, shared, and celebrated in everyday life.

There is also a thriving grassroots arts movement in Acton, with the likes of The ActOne Cinema—a beautiful restored community-focused theatre—serving as local pride and artistic rejuvenation. There are regular events in the area, ranging from open mic nights and films to local theatre pieces and artwork exhibitions. Acton Park, and its busy café and al fresco activities, is part of the cultural heritage and community. As regeneration takes hold and new residents arrive, the cultural landscape is changing, but retains an earthy feel that keeps Acton's arts scene real and reachable. It's not one of the efforts to emulate trendier boroughs—it's creating a cultural identity that's unique unto itself.

Culture in Acton Town is proudly shaped by its community and driven by its history, diversity, and creative energy. Whether through music, art, or festivals, Acton Town celebrates culture in everyday spaces.
