In 2023 as a proposal to curb overseas buyers and give fist time buyers a better chance of getting on the housing ladder, the labour party wants agents to be banned from selling new homes to anyone who has previously owned a home. The proposal has met widespread criticism across the industry as they feel it is unfair and impractical.
