Block Management Walthamstow

Walthamstow's No 1 Managing agent

Block and Estate Management is about the minutia done well: the role of a Managing Agent is technical, administrative, practical and political. It takes joined up thinking to do what we do well as well as sufficient resource to react to whatever is necessary day-to-day.

As a Managing Agent we know our true business is building relationships with people. Our people are empowered and know that they can make a difference to how people feel about where they live. We call our 'Property Manager's 'Relationship Managers’ to embody our values which are to build relationships, add value, and to take the initiative. We lead the market in transparency and focusing on risk, cash, repairs and place making, usually in that order, and was the first Managing Agent to introduce a ' money back guarantee ’.

Being who we are would be impossible without our passionately committed people, whose qualifications we sponsor and who we support professionally to be the best they can be, as achieving a national training award and our Silver IIP status confirms.

"We have had a problem with noise from the flat above us in Lady Isle House Ferry Court Cardiff. We contacted a Mr Paul Staniforth who immediately became involved and addressed the situation. We really do appreciate what he has done for us and cannot thank him enough. Once again a big thank you to Mr Staniforth. The noise above was intolerable."

History of Walthamstow

Walthamstow is a vibrant district located in the northeastern part of London, within the London Borough of Waltham Forest. It has a rich history that stretches back to medieval times and has transformed into a dynamic and diverse area known for its mix of cultural heritage, green spaces, and modern urban development.Walthamstow’s history dates back to the 11th century, as it was recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086 as “Walthamstow.” The name itself is believed to come from Old English, meaning “the homestead of Weald,” with “Weald” referring to the surrounding woodland. Over the centuries, Walthamstow developed from a rural settlement to a bustling town, and its proximity to the River Lea helped with its early development. By the 19th century, Walthamstow saw significant expansion with the arrival of the railway station in 1840, which improved access to London, facilitating its growth into a major suburban area.

During the Victorian era, Walthamstow became an important industrial hub, with factories and businesses emerging, including the well-known Walthamstow Market, which opened in 1885 and remains one of the longest street markets in Europe today. The area’s industrial roots laid the foundation for its expansion throughout the 20th century, and in the post-war years, it became home to a diverse population with a blend of housing estates and suburban developments.Today, Walthamstow is a thriving, multicultural community with a mix of residential areas, vibrant markets, and an evolving cultural scene. The town is home to several green spaces such as Walthamstow Wetlands, one of the largest urban wetland reserves in Europe, and Epping Forest nearby, which provides ample opportunities for outdoor activities. Walthamstow’s high street, including the famous market, is filled with shops, cafes, and restaurants that reflect the area’s diversity. Its growing reputation as a hub for arts and culture, with venues like the Walthamstow Central Station and The William Morris Gallery, further adds to its appeal as a place for both history and modern urban living.
