"We have had a problem with noise from the flat above us in Lady Isle House Ferry Court Cardiff. We contacted a Mr Paul Staniforth who immediately became involved and addressed the situation. We really do appreciate what he has done for us and cannot thank him enough. Once again a big thank you to Mr Staniforth. The noise above was intolerable."

Hanwell is in the borough of Ealing, 9 miles to the west of central London. The area is thought to have originated from the words hana, meaning a cock, and weille, meaning a stream. Hanwell was an ancient village, first in the 5th and 6th centuries.
In the Domesday Book, published in 1086, during the period of King William I, "The Conqueror", (r.1066-1087), Hanwell was recorded to have part of the land farmed, and part of it was meadowland, where pigs roamed. There was a mill at Hanwell, and most of the villagers were peasants or villains, working on the land. The total population was approximately 100.

From around 1900 onwards, towards the end of Queen Victoria's reign (r.1837-1901), about thirty-six horse buses, or omnibuses, travelled through Hanwell. However, from the early 20th onwards, trams replaced omnibuses. For example, in 1901, trams ran from London to Southwell, via Hanwell.
