Block Management Goodmayes
As a specialist Block Management Company we are operating in Goodmayes .
History of Goodmayes
Goodmayes is in the borough of Redbridge, east London. It is situated 11 miles from the centre of London. The name Goodmayes derives from John Godemay, a 14th century landowner.
Barley Lane is thought to have been named after Dorothy Barley, the sister of Henry Barley. In 1527, during the reign of King Henry VIII, (r.1509-1547), Dorothy was elected as the Abbess of nearby Barking Abbey. Out of interest, she was the last Abbess there.
Goodmayes was not developed until the end of the 19th century, during the reign of Queen Victoria, (r.1837-1901). Following the emergence of the Great Eastern Railway, Goodmayes was built in 1901. Since then, the area has remained dominated by lines of terraced housing: built during the reign of King Edward VII, (r. 1901-1910). Since then, there have been few developments in housing.
