Block Management Overview

Management is about the minutia done well. It takes a team across a range of disciplines to deal with the multiple facets of block and estate management: politics, building pathology, finance, legal knowhow and of course customer service too.

At Ringley we believe in joined up thinking and commit to signpost Clients on all things property - even if outside our day-to-day management remit

Our true business is building relationships with our people. Our people really know that they can make a difference to our residents. We match our people to what each site needs to be achieved, with you in mind. We lead the market in transparency and focusing on risk, cash, repairs and place making, usually in that order.

We are not shy of hard work and believe our ability to get stuck in and find solutions that sets us apart. We are innovative to the core and committed to implementing good ideas in pursuit of 5* service.

Being who we are would be impossible without our passionately committed people, whose qualifications we sponsor and who we support professionally to be the best they can be, as achieving a national training award and our Silver IIP status confirms.

History of Chingford

Chingford is a town in east London, situated 8.6 miles north-east of Charing Cross. It was recorded as Cingefort, in the Domesday Book in 1086, in the era of Edward I "The Conqueror" (r. 1066-1087). It is thought that the original name derived from the Old English cingel, meaning shingle, and ford, and referred to an ancient crossing point on the River Lea. In 1181, it was named as Chingeford. Coincidentally, All Saints The Old Church, dates back to 1181, and it is the oldest surviving building in Chingford.
Chingford station opened in 1873, which benefitted a huge increase in visitors to the area, and was convenient for travel to Epping Forest. Queen Victoria (r. 1837-1901), granted Epping Forest to the people, in 1878, as part of the Epping Forest Act. This ensured it was kept free and unenclosed for the public to use.

Chingford Hub

On Thursday 11 June 2020, Waltham Forest Council's cabinet approved a report which would allow a feasibility study to be carried out into the development of a Chingford Hub on The Green, Chingford.

The proposed new facilities will improve the services available to local residents and the Chingford community. Of course, residents will be able to participate in the community to share their views, but there is currently no draft to consider as the feasibility study has not yet been completed.

If approved, the centre will include a new library, accessible multi-purpose rooms for local residents and community groups and a cafe. The double-height ceiling, which allows for larger gatherings and, if necessary, a stage, renews the spaces currently available in the Great Hall. Since the building was completed in 1959, the public's needs for such facilities have changed. It lacks the equipment to make the building user-friendly and has high maintenance and operating costs, especially the cost of heating the building.

What our CEO, Mary Anne Bowring, likes about Chingford

I had a lovely walk with my family, at Epping Forest. The trees were lovely, and we enjoyed looking deep into the freshwater ponds.

Swiss Cottage - More things to do....

Breeze Restaurant, 139 Station Road, Chingford, London, E4, is Turkish, family-owned and managed. There are a wide selection of Turkish dishes, as well as food from across Europe. Starters are hot and cold. The hot starters have a good focus on fish and chicken. There are platters with Mezze choices; salads; specials; chargrill, featuring kebabs; steaks; 3-course and 2-course set menus; seafood; vegetarian; pasta; children's menu; and sides. Desserts are an interesting combination: there are more comprehensive European desserts than there are Turkish desserts. The hot drinks include coffees, some with alcohol, and teas. As well as eat-in, there is a take-away menu; and a breakfast brunch and lunch menu.
