Block Management Beckton

Beckton's No 1 Managing agent

Block and Estate Management is about the minutia done well: the role of a Managing Agent is technical, administrative, practical and political. It takes joined up thinking to do what we do well as well as sufficient resource to react to whatever is necessary day-to-day.

As a Managing Agent we know our true business is building relationships with people. Our people are empowered and know that they can make a difference to how people feel about where they live. We call our 'Property Manager's 'Relationship Managers’ to embody our values which are to build relationships, add value, and to take the initiative. We lead the market in transparency and focusing on risk, cash, repairs and place making, usually in that order, and was the first Managing Agent to introduce a ' money back guarantee ’.

Being who we are would be impossible without our passionately committed people, whose qualifications we sponsor and who we support professionally to be the best they can be, as achieving a national training award and our Silver IIP status confirms.

"Ringley Group were always very quick at repairs if needed around the Apartments ,and supplied all out of hours numbers for emergencies . They were speedy with any enquiries and always communicated very well. I also have had the most pleasure of receiving ,help and advice from our Relationship Manager for a number of years regarding my apartment . He has always been available on the phone every time I’ve needed assistance . He has always been polite and very helpful and always made sure I understood everything no matter how long the phone call was knowing he’s a very busy man. My Relationship Manager was my go to person at Ringley and I am saddened that Ringley Group will cease Managing our Apartments . I hope The next management company are on par with what I have experienced ,they will have very big boots to fill to even come close to the most kind and understanding manager and Company I have ever dealt with ."

The History of Beckton: From Industrial Heartland to Modern Regeneration

Beckton, located in the London Borough of Newham, has a fascinating history that reflects both the rise and decline of industry in East London. Originally farmland and marshland, the area has transformed over the centuries into a thriving, evolving neighborhood. With its roots in industrial development, Beckton played a key role in powering London during the 19th and 20th centuries. Today, it stands as an example of urban regeneration, offering a blend of modern housing, retail spaces, and green areas, all within easy reach of central London.

Beckton’s history dates back to the mid-19th century when it was primarily rural farmland and marshland. The area’s name is derived from the nearby Beckton Gas Works, which was established in 1868 by the Gas Light and Coke Company. The gas works were a part of a larger industrial project designed to supply gas for lighting to the rapidly expanding areas of East London. The development of the gas works quickly transformed Beckton into an industrial hub, with the construction of workers’ housing and essential infrastructure to support the growing workforce.

Throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Beckton became heavily industrialized, with factories and manufacturing facilities forming the backbone of the local economy. However, as the gas industry began to decline in the mid-20th century, the area faced significant challenges. The closure of the Beckton Gas Works in the 1970s marked the end of an era for the neighborhood, and the area entered a period of economic stagnation.

In recent decades, Beckton has undergone significant regeneration, transforming from an industrial center into a vibrant, mixed-use residential area. The decline of heavy industry has given way to new housing developments, improved transport links, and the creation of retail spaces. Beckton’s location, close to the Docklands and with excellent access to central London, has made it an increasingly desirable location for those seeking affordable living with good transport connections. Today, Beckton is a diverse neighborhood, balancing its industrial past with modern living, and offering a dynamic environment for residents and visitors alike.

Conclusion

Beckton’s history is a story of industrial growth, economic challenges, and successful regeneration. From its roots as rural farmland to becoming a key industrial center in East London, the area has evolved dramatically over the years. The decline of the gas industry in the late 20th century gave way to a wave of revitalization, and today, Beckton is a thriving neighborhood with a mix of modern housing, amenities, and green spaces. Its proximity to central London and the Docklands makes it a sought-after location, offering affordable living and excellent transport links. As Beckton continues to evolve, it remains a prime example of how urban regeneration can breathe new life into once-industrial areas, creating vibrant, diverse communities for the future.
