Block Management Anerley

Anerley's No 1 Managing agent

Block and Estate Management is about the minutia done well: the role of a Managing Agent is technical, administrative, practical and political. It takes joined up thinking to do what we do well as well as sufficient resource to react to whatever is necessary day-to-day.

As a Managing Agent we know our true business is building relationships with people. Our people are empowered and know that they can make a difference to how people feel about where they live. We call our 'Property Manager's 'Relationship Managers’ to embody our values which are to build relationships, add value, and to take the initiative. We lead the market in transparency and focusing on risk, cash, repairs and place making, usually in that order, and was the first Managing Agent to introduce a ' money back guarantee ’.

Being who we are would be impossible without our passionately committed people, whose qualifications we sponsor and who we support professionally to be the best they can be, as achieving a national training award and our Silver IIP status confirms.

Block Management Reviews

"Our property manager was appointed this year and she's worked hard to bring our complex up to standard as we experienced a number of issues prior to her arrival. She is friendly, professional and really goes the extra mile. It's been a challenging year, and she's dealt with every challenge quickly, effectively and with a smile."

"Move in was so much easier than what I expected. The lettings negotiator throughout was great and went above and beyond the service I expected. Bob was an absolute delight to meet after the long move I had, he was such great help with the move. No problems so far and with the immediate responses I doubt there will be any in future. I would recommend them! Smooth process and move in."

"We have had a problem with noise from the flat above us in Lady Isle House Ferry Court Cardiff. We contacted a Mr Paul Staniforth who immediately became involved and addressed the situation. We really do appreciate what he has done for us and cannot thank him enough. Once again a big thank you to Mr Staniforth. The noise above was intolerable."

History of Anerley

Anerley’s history traces back to the early 19th century, when it was primarily rural farmland and open countryside. The name "Anerley" is thought to be derived from the Old English words "æþeling" (meaning nobleman) and "leah" (meaning wood or clearing), suggesting a location of some distinction. Significant change occurred in 1851 with the arrival of the Crystal Palace in nearby Sydenham, which sparked rapid development. As the Crystal Palace became more popular, Anerley’s proximity to the landmark led to the construction of residential properties, attracting middle-class families seeking easy access to London. This development laid the groundwork for the area’s transformation into a suburban community.

During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Anerley continued to evolve with the expansion of South London and the development of the railway network. The opening of Anerley Station in 1857 was a major catalyst for this change, offering better connectivity and helping integrate the area into London’s growing urban sprawl. As the 20th century progressed, further residential developments and local amenities were established, which contributed to Anerley’s steady growth. Today, Anerley blends its Victorian charm with modern housing and green spaces, including the famous Crystal Palace Park, making it an attractive, well-connected neighborhood that retains its peaceful, suburban atmosphere.
