The Negotiator AWARDS 2011 Leading lights

The worst recession in recent history has not been enough to prevent the UK's leading agents from surviving, and it's these firms who will award and celebrate at The Negotiator Awards 2011. After numerous hours and much scrutiny and deliberation, The Negotiator team has shortlisted 89 firms from sacks of entries for a chance to be crowned winner of their respective categories.

There are 17 categories at this years event, of which two are new. We've renamed our Green Champion award the Community Champion of the Year award to reflect broader criteria that recognises agents efforts in supporting their local communities as well as improving their local environment. We've also introduced standalone awards for Franchise of the Year and Property Manager of the Year, which covers property and block management by both firms and individuals. Our Auctioneer of the Year and Supreme Negotiator of the Year awards will, once again, be voted for by academies of hand-selected industry stalwarts.

Finalists will be named in the September issue of The Negotiator, following our judging day at the start of the month. This years judging panel is even bigger and better, with our lead judge none other than chartered surveyor and national broadcaster James Max. Max is joined by a range of agency experts, including Vincent Courtney (pictured), managing director of residential sales at Romans, which was winner of last years Supreme Negotiator Award and Debbie Fortune, director of Somerset-based Debbie Fortune Estate Agents, winner of last years Newcomer of the Year award together with The Property Ombudsman Services Bill McClintock, Marsh & Parsons chief executive officer Peter Rollings, Zoopla commercial director Nick Leaming and The Negotiators editor, Clare Bettelley. For the first time in our awards history, in addition to the scrutinising entrants submissions, were inviting our judges to mystery shop their offices to further test their excellence, so be prepared.
