On X, formerly known as Twitter there have often been posts referring to eviction notices.
It is difficult to know if these are merely fake news, but if they are genuine notices from a letting agent to their tenant, then there are so many reasons why it is completely unacceptable.
We thought it opportune to give some strong tips to help landlords and tenants alike, in order to find a professional letting agent who will work hard on your behalf. An agent who can be relied on not to deliver notices like those on Twitter!
The best way to start is todo some online research of your own. A good place to begin is to look at their marketing material. How are they currently advertising their properties? Do the pictures seem to be professionally taken and are the descriptions well written and acurate?
What do their customers say about them? Take a look at their online reviews, such as Google and TrustPilot. There are consumer rather than corporate driven and many not match the marketing information that companies send out.
Are they local and do they belong to a professional body such as ARLA? This is crucial as it shows that they have standards to adhere to and they also have a complaints, and compensation, system in place if things go wrong.
