Rother is a local government district in East Sussex, and it was named after the River Rother. The District of Rother was formed on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, through the merger of the Municipal Borough of Bexhill, the Municipal Borough of Rye and Battle Rural District.

There are many things to do in Rother that make it a great place to live, for instance, you could visit Bodiam Castle which hosts is a 14th-century moated built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge, a former knight of Edward III. If that's not for you, then you may prefer to take scenic walks across Camber Sands Beach.

Culture plays a big part in Rother, this is shown by the abundance of cultural activites to engage with. For instance, you could visit one of the many art galleries that the Rother district boasts, with a notable inclusion being the Rye Art Gallery, which exhibits the art-works of Rye Artists.
