History of Lisvane

The Welsh name for Lisvane is 'Llys-faen', which means 'Stone Court'. There have been several different spellings in the English language over the centuries such as: Lysvayen and Lucyvene.

A fun fact is that the earthworks at Graig Llwyn is known to be the oldest artifical feature in Lisvane, it has been proposed by several archaeologists to be the remains of an Iron Age stronghold.
